Hi! My name is Michael Louviere. I work as a freelance graphic/web designer/developer and Chef. I know, That’s a lot! In my free time I like to experiment with PHP, CSS, XHTML and the such. I enjoy drawing raster and vector art, reading, writing, music, cooking and finding good websites that share the same interests. Here you will find my ideas, writings, reviews, artwork, internet findings, spiritual insight, and quite possibly just what you where looking for.

Approximately 10 years ago I started this site… well not exactly. Around 1996 I began toying with Adobe Photoshop 3.5 creating graphics. Those graphics combined with the Knowledge of viewing source code on various existent websites, I decided to open notepad inside Windows 3.11 and give it a go. As most hard-core web developers will tell you Notepad is a powerful “tool” for writing the code behind these now gorgeous pages.I had several ideas for sites. One of which was named “ispy.com”. Ispy was a site soon to be dedicated for preventing what I had predicted to be “internet spies”. Boy do I regret not lifting that project off the ground. Ispy.com is now just another domain name purchased by someone hoping to sell it in return for a 6 figure amount. The site is one of many cloned, useless “search engines” no one seems to be familiar with and which usually contains embedded “spy ware”, the exact trash I had predicted and hoped to prevent.

10 years later it’s 2007 and the internet to me is anything but what I hoped it would become. Thinking back I remember losing interest in developing so much as a single main page after the debut of such sites as “rotten.com” and the now infamous “my space”. Another contributor was what I have titled the “Internet Bandwagon”. Around 1998 it seemed to me everyone and their mothers were self proclaimed “Web Designers”.It took the fun out of what at the time was my own way of “escape”. I then moved on to a fun new job at a Staples store in Upstate New York, where I worked in the Tech Center selling and repairing PC’s. I did a lot of independent studies based on computer hardware and networking thanks to various books, magazines and something I miss dearly… BBS’s. My parents could NEVER figure out how I knew what I did and I didn’t bother explaining it to them because, well, they just wouldn’t understand. I’ve always had an interest in figuring out how things worked. Unfortunately, I would basically destroy anything that was given to me that contained wires or a battery just to fulfill that interest. Hey, come on I was a kid! Anyhow, I guess this site is going to finally be MY OWN real dedicated domain for the thoughts of myself, family, friends and whoever else wishes to post. I hope you like what you see; After all it took me 10 years!

-Michael
